Step into an Equinox Signature Class anytime, anywhere, and something hits you — an energy that feels distinctly, well, Equinox. Maybe you can’t quite place it — is it the music? The instructor? The community? — but it keeps you coming back week after week to MetCon3, Pilates Rise, Barre Beyond, Ropes & Rowers, and more.
That specific something — call it substance meets style — is the product of Equinox’s Group Fitness team that spends countless hours brainstorming, testing, and developing classes driven by a combination of science, trend research, member interest, and a heady dose of ingenuity.
"With every Signature Class, we’re trying to invent a new way of thinking about movement," says Keith Irace, Vice President of Group Fitness. "Sometimes, we’re ahead of trend; other times, we’re exploring institutional concepts — yoga, Pilates — but we’re always thinking about how to create something unexpected, robust, and innovative."

The sense of innovation comes from the unique blend of class formats that feel masterfully structured but flexible enough to let each instructor shine, says Michael Gervais, Senior Director of Group Fitness Content & Programming. "In each signature class, you have this meeting of substance and style. The substance comes from the science-backed, results-driven programming, but the style is how each class comes to life."
Whether you step into a Sonic Meditation class or onto a treadmill for Precision Run, expect a class you won’t find anywhere else.
