Alternative flours aren't just for those with gluten sensitivities or other dietary limitations. In fact, cooking with nut, seed, and grain flours is a nutritious (and delicious) way to reinvent classic recipes with added flavor and texture. Flours like buckwheat, coconut, and almond have personalities and characteristics all their own, so don't pigeonhole them in the same categories as all-purpose or wheat flours. Here, Lauren Gerrie, co-owner of bigLITTLE Get Together, a New York-based culinary company (and Marc Jacobs' private chef), shares five recipes to try.
