When it comes to pop star Jake Miller’s public perception, his ripped physique is just as impressive as his earworm tracks. “The gym is the place I go where I can completely escape from my personal life and my career,” says the Weston, Florida native who shot to fame upon winning a regional talent show in 2011, later scoring a record deal and subsequent nationwide fanbase. Today, his music ranges from the sultry jam “Overnight” to the catchy sing-along “Rumors.”
“I try to work out every single day for at least 45 minutes to an hour,” Miller says of the schedule he’s had for the past five years. “I usually stick to two body parts a day and take pre-workout before the gym. I’ll then make a strawberry, banana, and peanut butter protein shake afterwards.” However, Miller is quick to point out that a buff body isn’t his only goal. “The main reason I go to the gym is for my mind, not my physical appearance.”
Along with taking an aforementioned pre-workout supplement, it’s music that powers his intense regime and exclusive to Furthermore,Miller put together a rundown of his favorite workout tracks, from his own hits to recent smashes from the likes of Justin Timberlake and Drake. “(When I’m working out), I throw some music on, put myself in a bubble, and focus on bettering myself,” says Miller.
